The day I learned to fly I was 16 years old and just finished private pilot ground school. I was nervous as I hopped in the airplane, taking the controls for my discovery flight. The day I learned to fly was the day my Dad supported me and never doubted me. Although it was many years later that I would become a private pilot, I would always remember that day.

|"C'mon! Let's roll!"|
It was a sunny Sunday and for once, the calendar was empty. What's a flying couple and their pooch to do? Try out a new $100 hamburger of course! The sun bore down on us as we took the plane out and prepared for the flight.
Once again, we could not find where Turbo's Mutt Muff's had disappeared to, but it was a short flight. As we ran up, Turbo decided that his puppy platform was a bit too shaky to sit in without much luggage underneath, so he hopped over the seat and into my lap. I guess I would not be flying that leg of the flight!

Bob and I were back in the air (and lighter than air!) last night with our friends over at Tailwinds Over Frederick. This was our third flight with Tailwinds and our fourth balloon flight overall. The magic has yet to be lost on us!
We met the rest of the team over in Woodsboro and began setting up the balloon. It had been a year since I last crewed but after a refresher on what to do, it was like the "good ol' days". We had to adjust our setup location once for winds, but everything went smoothly. As it turns out, the other couple that would be flying with us that night shared the same anniversary as Bob and I. They were great to fly with and fun people to get to know while several thousand feet in the air while held up by an envelope.
